AEW has plans to expand their roster. This was first revealed during the TV contract extension and this Kevin O’Reilly quote to Variety:

“This is a startup. It’s already over-delivered out of the gate. That’s really when you want to hit the gasoline a little bit. The guys already have ideas about additional talent and things they want to do and I wanted to incentivize them as a partner to do that.”

It is now known one potential name that AEW may be looking at: Lance Archer.

Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barasso reported that AEW is in high-level talks with the company to come in. Archer is coming off a career-year in New Japan with an outstanding showing in the G-1 Climax and a great Wrestle Kingdom match against Jon Moxley.

Archer is a legit 6’8″ and would immediately become one of the largest wrestlers on the AEW roster. Despite his extensive career, he’s had very little exposure in America with only brief runs in WWE’s ECW and TNA earlier in his career. He has primarily worked in Japan since 2011 with the past year in New Japan considered to be his best in-ring.

Nothing has happened officially yet, but Barasso is a reporter who doesn’t report things like this often and wouldn’t do so unless he had some solid sourcing behind it.

Another name that is rumored to be signing with/has already signed with AEW is Brian Cage. He is someone that definitely has that PWG/SoCal connection and is someone that Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks know well. Cage was at Double or Nothing with AEW having original plans for him to appear in the Casino Battle Royale, but that was stopped do to contract reasons.

SoCal Uncensored reported that Cage signed with AEW and Steve Bryant is another reporter that wouldn’t report something like this unless they were reasonably sure. However, this story took a turn when Cage suffered a bicep injury that will require surgery.

Cage revealed on Instagram that he will be having surgery and could be out until the summer.

Cage also says that he hasn’t signed anywhere which may be true, but it is also exactly what wrestlers say when they have signed somewhere and want to keep it secret.

Brandi Rhodes sees a therapist to discuss her evolution in AEW. Brandi’s head trauma from the AEW debut on TNT may be responsible for her creating an alter-ego to shield herself because she’s afraid the fans won’t like her.

The video is titled “SESSION 1.” so one could assume these sessions will continue.

AEW is running a customer appreciation sale with 15% off all AEW merchandise until January 30th at noon central time. The deal also includes free shipping in the United States on orders over $150. For more information, check out

Cody Rhodes will receive his “ten lashes” from MJF on the Feburary 5th episode of Dynamite. Then two weeks later, he will face Wardlow in a cage match in Atlanta on the February 19th episode of Dynamite.

If Cody completes these two stipulations and manages to not touch MJF between now and AEW Revolution, Cody will face MJF at AEW Revolution.

Tony Khan will be making a donation in the name of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant after their tragic death on Sunday. Tony posted the following on twitter:

RIP Kobe & Gianna Bryant. Whether or not you were a fan of Kobe or @Lakers, please consider donating to a cause that was important to Kobe and Gianna: development of women’s basketball programs, at any level, youth to professional. It would be a nice way to honor their memories.

He then replied to a fan asking about AEW’s donation.

Tomorrow night’s AEW Dark on YouTube will feature:

  • QT Marshall vs. Kip Sabian
  • The Dark Order vs. Sonny Kiss & Brandon Cutler
  • Tables Match: Nyla Rose vs. Shanna
